デジモンの心臓部ともいえるデジコアを頭につけ、激しく燃焼させている火炎型デジモン。頭の上で燃えているデジコアの火が消えると、キャンドモンは生命活動を維持できなくなってしまう。一説には頭上の炎が本体で、体の部分はダミーではないかと言われている。火炎型のデジモンにしては性格はおとなしく、自ら回りに危害を加えることは無い。必殺技は小さな火球を吐き出す『ボンファイア』。
