体の半分以上を機械化しているサイボーグ型デジモン。ファイル島のメタルグレイモンは改造によって生命活動を大幅に長くすることができたが、肉体部分が耐え切れず青色に変色していた。しかし、完全なメタルグレイモンはグレイモンからの進化に成功しており、より強力なパワーを引き出しているサイボーグ型デジモンである。メタルグレイモンに進化するためには、襲い来る強敵を倒し、勝ち抜いていかなければならない。また、メタルグレイモンの攻撃力は核弾頭一発分に匹敵するといわれ、その一撃を受けるとレベルの低いデジモンなどは跡形も残さず消滅する。必殺技は強化されたクロンデジゾイド製の『トライデントアーム』と、胸の部分にあるハッチから有機体系ミサイル『ギガデストロイヤー』を発射する。さらに胸部の発射口から高熱のエネルギー波『ジガストーム』を噴出させることもできる。
