歯車の形をした変種のマシーン型デジモン。体内にも無数の歯車が組み込まれており、常に歯車が回転をしている。そのため１つでも歯車が抜けてしまうと、全身の歯車が回転を止めてしまい、生命活動を維持できなくなる。ハグルモンには相手にコンピュータウィルスを送り込んで意のままに操る特殊な能力をもっており、その能力を凶悪なデジモンに利用されている。しかし、ハグルモン自体は自我を持っていないため、悪用されていることなど知るよしも無い。必殺技はコンピュータウィルスを組み込んだ黒い歯車を相手の体内に埋め込んで、狂わせてしまう『ダークネスギア』。
