Welcome to this week's Pokémon news roundup for October 13, 2026. Today brings exciting updates across multiple titles, including major patch releases in Pokémon UNITE, an ongoing high-difficulty Tera Raid Battle in Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet, and fresh live event announcements in Pokémon GO.
UNITE Vortex of Astral Thunder Update Drops Today
The official Pokémon UNITE team released the Vortex of Astral Thunder patch today, adding Jolteon and Flareon to the playable roster through a limited-time license unlock event. Alongside these two Eeveelutions, the patch delivers extensive balance adjustments across the battle roster and fixes several ongoing bugs to improve overall match stability.
Scarlet and Violet 7-Star Flying Tera Salamence Raid
In Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet, the latest 7-star Black Crystal Tera Raid Battle features a level 100 Salamence with the Mightiest Mark and a Flying Tera Type. Players have until October 15 at 23:59 UTC to conquer this challenge and catch Salamence once per save file.
Pokémon GO Buddy Trek Event and Route QoL Patch
Pokémon GO kicks off the Fall Marathon Buddy Trek event today, introducing Bramblin to the mobile game and enabling Super Max Level alongside Discharge+ for Mega Manectric. This event follows an important Route quality-of-life patch that automatically grants 'Zygarde' Cells upon completing a Route instead of requiring manual tapping. Looking ahead, Trainers can prepare for Sandile Hatch Day on October 17 and upcoming Halloween 2026 Part I teasers featuring costumed Pikachu, Zubat, and Sinistea.
Here is what players should do next to make the most of this week's news. Log into Pokémon UNITE to begin progress toward Jolteon and Flareon licenses. Prepare Electric, Rock, or Ice counters in Pokémon Scarlet or Pokémon Violet to beat the 7-star Salamence raid before it leaves on October 15. Take advantage of automated 'Zygarde' Cell collection while walking Routes during the GO Buddy Trek event, and save your Egg Incubator charges for 2km Eggs during Sandile Hatch Day on Saturday.
