Welcome to the latest Pokémon TCG roundup for October 2, 2026. Today marks a massive day for both collectors and competitive players, featuring the highly anticipated second wave of the 30th Celebration expansion, a completely solidified post-rotation meta dominated by a single powerhouse deck, and exciting future announcements for both physical and digital formats.
Celebration Wave 2 and Delta Reign
Today, October 2, 2026, the second wave of the all-foil 30th Celebration expansion officially hits shelves, bringing highly anticipated products like the Booster Bundle, Mini Tins, and Mini Portfolio. This special anniversary set features 30 unique Pikachu rare cards and a new Futuristic rare rarity designed by YOSHIROTTEN. Looking ahead, The Pokémon Company has also announced the next major English expansion, Mega Evolution—Delta Reign, scheduled for November 6, 2026, which will prominently feature 'Mega Rayquaza ex'.
Dragapult ex Dominates Brisbane Regionals
On the competitive side, the post-rotation Standard format has found its undisputed king. At the Brisbane Regional Championships on September 26, 2026, variants of Dragapult ex completely swept the top six spots of the tournament, with Edmund Khoo taking first place, followed by Yoshiyuki Yamaguchi and Brent Tonisson. Other top-performing decks in the top cut featured Lopunny, Mega Dusknoir, Lucario, and Mega Hariyama. Meanwhile, the Standard format ban list remains completely unchanged, ensuring a stable competitive environment heading into the fall.
Digital Updates in Pokémon TCG Pocket
Digital players also have plenty to look forward to this October. The mobile app Pokémon TCG Pocket is preparing to introduce Dual-type cards, starting with 'Mega Mewtwo X ex' alongside first partner cards like 'Piplup ex' and Fuecoco ex. Additionally, the Deluxe Pack: Mega became playable on September 30, and the Premium Pass reset on October 1, offering a new Darkrai promo card and Mega Charizard accessories.
To stay ahead of the game, collectors should head to local retailers or the Pokémon Center online today to secure Wave 2 products before secondary market prices climb further. Competitive players must study the winning Dragapult ex decklists from Brisbane on Limitless TCG to either master the deck or build a counter. Finally, digital players should log into Pokémon TCG Pocket to complete the new October Premium Pass missions for the Darkrai promo and save up resources for the upcoming Dual-type cards.
