Welcome to the October 26, 2026 Pokémon TCG news and format roundup! Following the recent release of 30th Celebration product lines, the competitive scene is evolving quickly both on physical tables and in digital clients. Below is a breakdown of upcoming set releases, major tournament results, and recent format shifts across the Pokémon TCG ecosystem.
Upcoming Sets and Standard Format Check
The competitive Standard format remains strictly locked to Regulation Mark H, I, and J cards following the rotation of the G block. Decks are leaning heavily into Mega Evolution mechanics and Area Zero synergy engines. Looking ahead, the next English expansion, Mega Evolution - Delta Reign, had its prerelease events begin on October 24, 2026. The set will officially launch on Pokémon TCG Live on November 5 and arrive at physical retailers on November 6. Key additions include 'Mega Rayquaza ex', 'Mega Golurk ex', and 'Mega Malamar ex', along with Legendary Stadiums, a new mechanic where two Stadium cards are played side-by-side to construct a single complete artwork.
Meta Shifts and Nice Regional Results
Competitive play post-30th Celebration is seeing significant adaptation. At the Nice Regional Championships in France on October 17-18, over 2,300 Masters division players battled through the current field. Luc Gantner claimed first place piloting 'Basic Box', defeating Maxime Launay playing 'Dhelmise Hide 'n' Sneak' in the finals. While Dragapult ex holds its ground as a dominant tier-1 deck, tech options like Mew ex and Mega Lopunny have gained momentum alongside established contenders like Slowking and Hydrapple.
Digital TCG Updates for Pokémon TCG Pocket
On the mobile side, Pokémon TCG Pocket announced a shift from 4-week to 6-week expansion releases to ease the collection cadence for players. The upcoming digital set, Dual Fusion, releases on October 28, 2026, introducing dual-type Pokémon to the app's battle format.
To stay ahead of the meta, competitive players should adjust their decklists to tackle 'Basic Box' and Dragapult ex using deck concepts from the Nice Regionals top-8 lists. Local tournament attendees can join ongoing Delta Reign Build and Battle prereleases through early November. Digital players should hold onto in-game currency on Pokémon TCG Live for the November 5 Delta Reign update, or reserve pack openings for Dual Fusion on Pokémon TCG Pocket when it lands on October 28.
